picture-6

Hi…This is my personal recipe and family blog site, but I am also involved with a fruit gleaning project in Riverside, CA picking neighborhood fruit from overflowing fruit trees and donating the fresh fruit to the local Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank and others in need. Our name is Inland Empire Urban Fruit Harvesting.

Good.is Magazine wrote a Food Grows on Trees article on groups who are gleaning for donations. We just happen to be one of them. Please check out the article and spread the word….

Attention All Inalnd Empire People – Urban Fruit Harvesting

Hi all….
first, thank you for taking the time to read this post.

I watched a short YouTube Video on Urban Fruit Harvesting…

I am inspired…

We have an abundance of fruit growing on trees in residential areas of the Inland Empire. But every year, this delicious organic food drops without being harvested. Meanwhile, many people living on low incomes have limited access to fresh fruit, vital to a healthy diet.

I would like to get together and gather the fruit before it falls, and make this valuable resource available to those who need it.

So, if you know of anyone who has fruit tress, please let me know.

Even if it’s just one tree, it’s okay.

I am going to gather up places to pick trees and then organized a volunteer outing to start harvesting. Bring home what you want and the rest I will give to local food banks, homeless shelters and other organizations who may need fruit.

Are you in? You know of anyone who has trees, do you want to help harvest? Volunteer a truck, containers, pickers, people…..???anything you can help out with would be much appreciated.

Thank you for your support.

Making a difference, lighting my footprint….
Krista

Three questions about Dstroyr. com

Jon Chase

1.) Describe Dstroyr.com is three words?

Future Dreams Now

2.) Where can you by Dstroyr.com products?
A: online at Outlawswapmeet. com, or check the DSTROYR store list on the blog. Most of the stores are in the Inland Empire, but just got an order from a store in Medford, Oregon. That is pretty awesome, so stoked that independent stores that are willing to carry a small unknown little tiny clothing brand.

A Sneak Peak:

3.) Who would you thank the most for your success?
A: Mom and Dad, mom for being a artist and Dad for being a level thinker. I got a little of both, they always supported me no matter what. Katrina my super awesome fiancee, she really puts up with my crazy.

Maxx242 for believing in me more then I did years ago.

Mr. Barker for giving me a chance to do what I do.

The love of art for helping me decide it was time to go out on my own and do the freelance thing. Grow as an artist and experiment with new ideas, and work towards a new chapter in my life. For me it’s not the end result it’s the process, and the process is barely getting started.

Stylin Nook, Riverside CA – Hair by Mariana – The Three Questions!!!

Stylin Nook is a quiet, quaint, stylish hair salon located in Riverside at 3765 Jurupa Ave. Mariana is the owner and one, of the three, stylist at her shop. She has come up with fun, creative and eccentric ways to do hair and spice up her salon. It’s full of fun, chatter and excellent hair cuts.

She specializes in women and men’s custom haircuts, corrective color, foil weaving (multi-colors), color, up-do’s, custom extensions, facial waxing, make-up and making you feel 100% glamorous.

I have asked her three questions about her shop and herself. Here is Mariana had to say:

1.) List three words that describes both, you and Stylin Nook.

three words to describe the shop and myself: Fun, Creative and and all around Good Vibes.

2.) What was your biggest mistake? How did you fix it?

I was doing black and blonde chunks and made the mistake of buying “blue” black and rinsed the color right out. It turned the blonde chucks all grey-bleuish. It was horrible! I may have had a slight heart attack.

I just had to pin up all the black chunks and color delete all the blonde to take out that ugly ugly grey blue color from the blonde, then it was perfect! Whew!

3.) What is the funniest thing said in your shop while you were doing hair?

I did have one client ask if there was a such thing as dying pubic hair..lol……..and the funny thing is that there is!!!!!! you can change it pink, purple, blue, all kinds of fun stuff. My friend told me she seen it at a naughty girl party lol……….

Extra Extra: They have a Manicurist coming in in September!! Come see Stylin Nook for an AWESOME Manicure and Pedicure!!

For an appointment please call (951)781-3790 or send an email thru Stylin Nooks’ Myspace.
