Custom T Shirt Blankets

Do you have a loved one who has passed away? Want to preserve their memories?

What a beautiful idea…

cuddling up tightly around your loved ones clothes, shirts &  items when you miss them or just need to spend time with them.

I recently made four memory blankets for a family whose father/husband had passed away.. 😦

Colleen, wife and mother, kept all of his clothes, socks even!  and had me create these beautiful memory blankets. We also added digital photo ‘squares’ to the blanket.. I made a collage of varies photos of their dear Father plus their favorite photo of him in a field of sunflowers.. what a beautiful memory to hold on too.

I made this pillow to them as a gift. Here’s the other photos of the pillow:

His birthday would have been on Valentine’s Day! I know they miss him, but I do hope that these blankets brought an enjoyment to their hearts they haven’t felt since his own hugs. I do believe he is still with us and that I felt him a lot making these blankets.. very big warm hug to you and yours, Colleen.

Happy New Year – Fresh, Clean Starts

Happy New Year! Wow… doesn’t time fly by fast…??

How exciting to march into this next year…. Positive things are happening for both Shon and me. Shon, has started Barber school and is looking forward to graduating and starting to build his own clientele. He has also gotten back together with Still Dreadful, his long term band and friends. We are looking forward to many shows!

As for me, my Etsy shop has been keeping me pleasurably busy.

I create T Shirt Blankets or as some people refer to them as Memory Quilts. Either way, I create a very special unique gift for yourself or for a loved one.. a  memorable gift… unforgettable even..

Homemade T-shirt Blanket for my hubby

Hi there…..here is my latest creation. A homemade, t-shirt blanket made from Shon’s older t-shirts.

The t-shirts were just piling up, but he didn’t want to get rid f them, so creativity set in..let’s make a blanket….

This blanket tells many of his stories…from all different times of his life.

Some of the shirts, he designed. Some he just loved and others have lots of memories…

neat, hau?

the back of the blanket, I used some old camo curtains that were hanging in Shon’s work…they were just throwing it away…why?

I’ll take it…and MAKE  SOMETHING!!!

Handmade T-Shirt Toddler Blanket made with Used T-Shirts

Handmade T-shirt Blanket made from Raleigh’s old t-shirts, blanket and receiving blankets…

This is my first attempt at any kind of blanket, patch work or quilt. I sewed this blanket with a sewing machine and tread. I cut the t-shirts into equal squares and then cut the blankets to fit around. I had a great time with this project. However, it feels good to be done!

I just winged this one…not measuring very carefully, but I have learned. The next blanket, which will be for Shon will be a bit more precise.

Now, I have all those memories, smells and feelings all rolled up into a blanket he can use and keep forever.

Logan’s, Snowball fights, French Fries and Family

Our Weekend in Mt. Baldy….and Logan’s

…..we started our day by going to Logan’s Candy Cane Shop. I forgot to take pictures…… I was like a  kid in the candy store. Nothing else was on my mind but CANDY!!!

Logan’s has been open since 1933 and have been making handmade candy canes ever since.

They are located in Ontario, California….Downtown

…from there…stuffed with divinity, candy cane and chocolate…we headed up the Mountain to Mt. Baldy….

where we found a Lodge we could settle down in and have some fun in the snow.
